Police make fourth gun-related arrest in 10 days

Police arrested a Chicago man Tuesday in connection with unlawful possession of a gun, marking the fourth gun-related arrest in 10 days.

Police arrested the man after recovering a handgun in the 400 block of Ridge Avenue. Officials responded to a report of a man in possession of a gun in a vehicle near the intersection of Church Street and Dodge Avenue. The man, 20, was on parole for robbery and aggravated robbery prior to this arrest, police said. He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, among other charges. He is scheduled to appear in court July 8.

Another man on parole was arrested Monday in connection with the possession of a gun. Police responded to a call in the 600 block of Mulford Street where a man was found to have a loaded handgun, police said. The man was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, among other charges.
