A 32-year-old man died early Monday morning after falling from a building in downtown Evanston, according to police.

Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said the man fell from the 26th floor to the fourth floor at a building in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue.

The incident occurred at Optima Views, a condominium building at 1720 Maple Ave., according to a member of its management office.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene at about 3:30 a.m., Parrott said.

The man’s death was ruled a suicide following an autopsy Tuesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police do not believe foul play was involved in the man’s death, Parrott said.
