WHAT: A black dress with a floral print, black tights and black lace-up boots

WHY: Florals! Spring is hopefully here to stay, which means so are cutesy flower prints. Floral prints are perfect for warmer weather and easy slip-on dresses. Sarah’s print is small and barely noticeable, but you can choose a larger scale one for a more dramatic effect. Prints not your thing? Try a graphic tee with a single flower, which is edgy but still soft. 

THE BREAKDOWN: I love the structure of Sarah’s dress with the contrast of the floral pattern. The black background and the geometric lines give a traditionally girly print a harder edge. By pairing the look with black tights and black lace-up boots, the contrast between hard and soft is even more noticeable. To kick the look up a notch, I’d add a black floppy hat or a bold pink lip.
