Body found in Evanston park could be missing Des Plaines woman

The body found washed up on the shoreline of Lake Michigan in south Evanston on Sunday could be that of a Des Plaines resident who has been missing since February, police said.

A person walking along the shore of the lake near Clark Square Park in the 800 block of Sheridan Road saw the woman’s body at about 11:45 a.m., Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said.

The body has been moved to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed Monday. The body has not been identified yet. However, Parrott said it is a “possibility” that the body is that of a missing Des Plaines woman.
