City official: Evanston Township reinstates employee fired by former supervisor
October 24, 2013
One of two employees fired by former Evanston Township supervisor Gary Gaspard has been rehired, according to a city official.
Rod Mitchell, who served as office manager before Gaspard let him go, was reinstated today, city manager Wally Bobkiewicz said.
Gaspard’s resignation went into effect Friday, less than five months after he was elected.
On Monday night, the township board picked Bobkiewicz as Gaspard’s temporary replacement. After a few speakers alluded to the fired employees, the trustees went into executive session to discuss the personnel issues.
