Two men robbed a Northwestern student of her cell phone, credit cards and keys early Friday morning near the Evanston campus, according to a University security alert.
The student was walking east near Garrett Place and Orrington Avenue about 1:55 a.m. when the men approached her, the University said. One of the men demanded the student’s wallet and cell phone, EPD Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. She handed over her Samsung flip phone and a coin purse containing her keys, drivers license and two credit cards, he added.
Parrott said one of the men threatened the student and told her, “I know where you live. We’ll kill you if you tell anyone.” However, the student was not injured, according to the alert.
Evanston and University police could not find the men. Police now have descriptions of both men, who are likely between 18 and 23 years old, Parrott said.
