The Department of Treasury’s chief economist will return to her job at Northwestern this week, Bloomberg Businessweek reported Monday.

Prof. Janice Eberly left the Kellogg School of Management in October 2011 when the Senate confirmed her as assistant secretary for economic policy. At the Treasury, she led the office that analyzed U.S. and global economic developments.

At NU, Eberly was the John L. and Helen Kellogg professor of finance and previously served as chair of the finance department.

Eberly has been a member of the Kellogg faculty since 1998.
