Thief steals leaf blowers

Someone stole two leaf blowers belonging to a landscaping company Tuesday.

The landscaping company was doing work in the 200 block of Lake Street and left the leaf blowers, worth about $700, unattended in the backyard, said Evanston Police Department spokesperson Cmdr. Jay Parrott. The thief allegedly drove a dirty grey vehicle.

Graffiti on garage door

A 75-year-old Evanston resident reported graffiti in her property Sunday.

The resident discovered red paint on her garage door in the 900 block of Elmwood Avenue, Parrott said, adding that the incident did not appear gang-related.
