Thrown rocks break home window

Someone threw rocks at the home of a 47-year-old Evanston resident in the 900 block of Chicago Avenue on Tuesday, said Evanston Police spokesman Cmdr. Jay Parrott.

The offender or offenders threw the rocks from the nearby Chicago Transit Authority tracks, breaking a bedroom window and denting a window in the living room. The incident occurred between 10:15 and 10:30 p.m., Parrott said.

The window faces the CTA tracks to the west. The rocks also damaged a screen, Parrott added.

Man with burglary warrant arrested

A 33-year-old Evanston man was arrested Sunday and charged with burglary due to an outstanding warrant, Parrott said.

Police responded to a disturbance call in the 700 block of Mulford Street and interviewed a man regarding the call. After running his name, the officers learned he had an outstanding warrant in connection with a burglary in north Evanston.

The alleged burglary occurred Feb. 10 at the Presbyterian Homes, 3200 Grant St. Property was allegedly taken from the retirement community.

The man is scheduled to appear in court May 9.
