Garage entered, cars burglarized on Colfax Street
An Evanston resident reported a burglary Friday at his residence in the 1800 block of Colfax Street.
The culprit entered the garage through a sliding window, Evanston Police Department spokesman Perry Polinski said. Once inside the garage, the burglar entered the unlocked cars and removed various items.
Missing from the vehicles were GPS units, gift cards to Shell and BP, a black leather jacket and a pair of sunglasses, Polinski said.
Police are still investigating.
Energy drinks allegedly stolen at CVS
EPD officers charged a Chicago resident with retail theft Wednesday at CVS Pharmacy, 1711 Sherman Ave.
Police were called to CVS after the store manager saw a 51-year-old woman taking five cases of 5-hour ENERGY shots without paying for them. CVS employees detained the woman in the store until police arrived.
The woman was cooperative, Polinski said, and is scheduled to appear in court May 8.
