Thief takes 2006 Chrysler
Someone stole a 43-year-old Evanston woman’s car late last week, Evanston Police Department spokesman Cmdr. Jay Parrott said.
The woman called police after she discovered her car was missing from the 2000 block of Darrow Avenue.
Broken glass surrounded the area where her car was parked, Parrott said.
The vehicle was a green 2006 Chrysler Sebring. Parrott said there are no known suspects at this time.
Thief breaks lock, steals bike
An unidentified person took a 59-year-old Evanston man’s bike in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue sometime between April 2 and 15, Parrott said.
The thief broke the lock of the bike and took it from the basement of the man’s building. Parrott said the basement was also locked.
There are no known suspects at this time, Parrott said.
Chicago resident may have sold heroin to Evanston residents
A 33-year-old Chicago man was charged Monday evening with multiple drug- and weapons-related crimes, according to an EPD news release.
Along with officers from the Cook County Sheriff’s Police North Gang Unit, EPD officers executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of Juneway Terrace after receiving a tip regarding the sale of heroin to Evanston residents in the area.
They found 1.5 grams of heroin and 6 grams of cannabis, Parrott said. Officers also found a 9mm handgun and a .38 caliber revolver. The man did not have proper identification for these firearms.
The man received seven charges, including possession of drugs with intent to deliver and two counts of aggravated unlawful use of weapons. He is scheduled to appear in Skokie court May 1.
