Man choked for using phone

A 30-year-old Evanston resident allegedly choked a 54-year-old resident Wednesday.

The two men argued over phone usage in a residence in the 2000 block of Howard Street, Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. The 30-year-old allegedly pushed the other man down, jumped on him and choked him. He then fled.

Man threatened with a revolver

An Evanston boy reported being threatened by a bearded man with a gun Wednesday afternoon.

The 17-year-old was walking in the 1300 block of McDaniel Avenue when the other man allegedly approached him on a bike, engaged him in conversation and showed a revolver, Parrott said. The boy was not injured.
