Evanston resident shot in the foot
An Evanston resident was shot in the foot early Friday morning.
Someone brought the injured man to St. Francis Hospital, 355 Ridge Ave., Evanston Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott said. Detectives believe the incident occurred in the area of Lyons Street and Darrow Avenue.
“It was a through-and-through wound, which means there was no bullet recovered from the victim,” Parrott said, adding that the 31-year-old was uncooperative to police investigation.
“The victim has a previous conviction for a weapon’s charge and has several police arrests in his background, so we believe the incident may be possibly gang-related,” Parrot said. “It has not been ruled out that the wound was self-inflicted.”
Waukegan man charged with trespassing at Burger King
Evanston police charged a Waukegan resident with trespassing Friday.
The manager of Burger King, 1740 Orrington Road, called the police when he saw the 36-year-old in the store, Parrott said. The man had been barred from the restaurant for “harassing customers in the past,” Parrott added.
The man will appear in court May 21.
