Nominations underway for city’s annual volunteer award
The City of Evanston is now accepting nominations for its annual Outstanding Volunteer of the Year award.
The City of Evanston, Northwestern University, Evanston Township High School and the Evanston Community Foundation jointly sponsor the award to recognize volunteers for their services, according to the City of Evanston website.
Five volunteers will be selected from each of three categories: Evanston high school students, NU students and Evanston residents. Award recipients will attend a special reception at Norris University Center, 1999 Campus Drive, on April 10, five days before National Volunteer Week, according to the Norris website.
Rebecca Swan (SESP ‘11), Alice Feng (Weinberg ‘11) and SESP junior Camielle Taylor received the honor last year.
The nomination form can be found online at http://www.norris.northwestern.edu/vr. The deadline for nomination is Friday.
