Four men arrested in connection to battery
Evanston police arrested three Chicago men and an Evanston man in connection with battery Thursday afternoon, according to an EPD news release.
Police saw the men kicking and punching a 17-year-old man on the 500 block of Howard Street at around 12:41 p.m. The men tried to hide and flee before the police arrested them, Cmdr. Jay Parrott said.
All four men are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 17.
Evanston woman stole about $142 worth of baby food
Police recovered about $142 worth of baby food after arresting an Evanston woman in connection with theft at Jewel-Osco on the morning of Jan. 2, according to an EPD news release.
A security officer at the grocery store, 1128 Chicago Ave., observed the 57-year-old shopper walking past the register with nine cans of baby formula in her shopping bag without paying, Parrott said.
Police charged the woman with felony due to a previous record of retail theft. She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 20.
