Man steals seven bottles of vodka from Dominick’s
A man stole seven bottles of Smirnoff vodka from Dominick’s on June 27, police said.
Security cameras at the grocery store, 2748 Green Bay Road, showed a man walking through the liquor aisle at 5:50 p.m. and placing seven 750-milliliter bottles of vodka, valued at $19 each, in a black backpack, Evanston Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther said. A female store employee saw a vodka bottle sticking out of the man’s backpack and chased him as he left the store, but she did not catch him.
Dominick’s employees did not report the crime until Tuesday, Guenther said. Police are still investigating.
