Dillo Day announcements delayed by contracts, will be made by end of the week

Mayfest will announce remaining Dillo Day artists on schedule

Mayfest co-chair and Weinberg junior Chase Jackson said in an email that securing contracts with Dillo Day artists this year has been “frustrating.” Regardless, pending contract approval, all announcements should be made by the end of the upcoming weekend, he said.

Per tradition, and barring any leaks, Mayfest will make announcements during Battle of the Bands on May 19 and 20. The event is spread over the two nights from 9 p.m. to midnight each night at Tommy Nevin’s Pub, 1454 Sherman Ave.

Jackson said although speculations have been circulating about which artists may be making an appearance at Dillo Day, Mayfest is “not comfortable discussing rumors about potential artists.”

Last year, Guster was announced as an afternoon performer on May 22 during Mayfest’s Battle of the DJs, about a week before Dillo Day, while Regina Spektor was announced April 12. So far, B.o.B is the only confirmed artist in this year’s lineup other than Battle of the DJs winner Guns and Sons.
