Evanston apartment complex goes up for sale
The Reserve at Evanston apartment complex is for sale eight years after being built.
The Northwestern Office of Business and Finance has no plans to buy the complex as of now, said Eugene Sunshine, senior vice president of business and finance. NU has bought one property in Evanston in the past 13 years, Sunshine said.
“We get inquiries all the time from people who own various properties, particularly west of here,” Sunshine said. “We certainly consider them.”
Sunshine said the office has not been approached about buying the property, but if it is in the future it will not rule anything out. The only non-university property NU owns in Evanston is a single-family home on Foster Street that is used to temporarily house visiting faculty, staff and administrators.
No price has been set for The Reserve, 1930 Ridge Ave., but it is expected to sell for about $40 million, according to Crain’s Chicago Business.
