Three Evanston police officers promoted to sergeant rank

The Evanston Police Department promoted three officers to police sergeants Monday, according to an EPD news release.

Officer Kevin Campbell, Detective Jody Wright and Detective Melissa Sacluti were promoted during the ceremony at the Evanston Fire Department, 909 Lake St., on Monday afternoon.

Campbell has been working with EPD since 2003. He attended the Chicago Police Academy and received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix in spring 2009. He has been serving in the patrol division and was also certified as an evidence technician in 2006.

Wright started at EPD in 2002 and worked in patrol operations until 2005. He also worked in training new police recruits. In 2005, he moved to the Neighborhood Enforcement Team, a division of EPD that works on reducing drugs and gangs in Evanston. He then transferred to the detective bureau in 2009.

Sacluti began working with EPD in 2003, starting out at patrol operations. In 2006, she servedin the NET and then moved to the detective bureau in 2008. She is working on obtaining a master’s degree in public administration from DePaul University.
