MADISON, Wis. — Northwestern will try to play the role of spoiler today as it takes on No. 7 Wisconsin, who is looking to book a trip to Pasadena.
The Badgers (10-1, 6-1 Big Ten) are playing for the share of the Big Ten title after wins earlier today by Ohio State and Michigan State. If the Bowl Championship Series standings hold, Wisconsin would take the Big Ten’s spot in the Rose Bowl with a win.
The Wildcats (7-4, 3-4), already without junior standout quarterback Dan Persa, will play today without starting running back Mike Trumpy, who is out with a wrist injury. Stephen Simmons is slated to get the start, but Adonis Smith and Arby Fields will also share carries out of the backfield.
