One Book program seeks suggestions for next year’s selection

The power to pick the title for next year’s One Book One Northwestern program is now in the hands of Northwestern’s students, faculty and staff.

The University is taking submissions until Nov. 29. All submissions should include the title of the book, a program faculty leader and an NU program or department to organize the program for the 2011-2012 school year. To turn in a suggestion, it must be e-mailed to [email protected].

Following an initial review, the One Book Program Planning Committee will discuss the proposals before making a recommendation to University President Morton Schapiro.

The final selection will be mailed to all incoming students over the summer.

The One Book One Northwestern program, put together by the Center for Civic Engagement, featured Tracy Kidder’s “Mountains Beyond Mountains” this year. The year before it was “Hot, Flat, and Crowded” by Thomas L. Friedman.
