Evanston officials, nonprofits and schools hope to mobilize residents for a city-wide community service project Saturday.
The Evanston Day of Caring will focus on education, income and health, according to a city news release. Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, North Shore United Way, the two Evanston school districts, Evanston Hospital and Northwestern are working together to plan the event.
Participants will complete one large community service project and possibly work on several smaller ones, according to the release. Anyone wishing to volunteer may sign up at www.cityofevanston.org/volunteer.
