Firework at Sig Ep sets off alarm Sunday morning

Someone set off a firework Sunday morning in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house, 2341 Sheridan Road, police said.

Police responded to a fire alarm at 2:50 a.m. and found a smoke bomb in the third floor hall of the house, Cmdr. Ronald Godby of University Police said.

The firework caused no property damage, Godby said. Police have no suspects.

Underage NU student taken to hospital after passing out

An underage Northwestern student went to the hospital Saturday morning after drinking too much alcohol, police said.

Police received reports that the student had passed out at 1838 Chicago Ave. at 2:12 a.m., Godby said. An ambulance picked the student up. Godby said he did not know the student’s current condition.
