Last day of H1N1 shots at Norris

H1N1 vaccinations for NU faculty and students will be available at Norris University Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, the last day of vaccinations, wrote University spokesman Al Cubbage in an e-mail.

“(The vaccinations) will be given only at Norris…and still only for persons in the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) priority groups,” Cubbage wrote.

The priority groups include people under 25 or those with medical conditions that make them more susceptible to influenza. Unlike previous days, the vaccines will not be administered Thursday in time periods based on alphabetical order. Priority group members can come to Norris at any time from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m .

The vaccinations will be at one location to “make logistics easier,” Cubbage wrote in an e-mail.

On Tuesday and Thursday, the free vaccinations were administered at both Norris and Patten Gymnasium. About 2,000 vaccinations were given on Tuesday alone.
