Hip-hop disc jockey RJD2 and mash-up duo The Hood Internet will headline this year’s One Voice benefit concert May 8, A&O Productions and One Voice announced Sunday.
Profits will be donated to UNICEF and By The Hand, a Chicago after-school program, said One Voice Programming Chairwoman Aditi Srinivasan.
“One Voice is about bringing everyone together for a cause,” the Weinberg junior said. “This year, we felt particular passion toward education.”
Northwestern alumnus DJ Clash Gordon, Music ’08, from Chicago will also perform at the concert, which will take place in the Louis Room of Norris University Center.
“Girl Talk showed us that NU students are extremely enthusiastic about dance music,” said Forrest Wickman, A&O director of concerts.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m., the Weinberg senior said.
Although last year’s outdoor concert featuring indie band Stars was free, this year’s event will cost $5 for undergraduates and $10 for the rest of the NU community. Tickets go on sale April 28 at 10 a.m. on the Norris Box Office Web site.
