FMO concert will also feature Big Sean

Rap and hip-hop artist Big Sean and aspiring musician James Brooks, a McCormick sophomore, will join Solange Knowles in the lineup at the For Members Only annual spring concert.

The concert will take place at 8 p.m. in the Louis Room at Norris University Center. Tickets went on sale Tuesday at the Norris Box Office, $5 for NU students and $7 for non-students. Tickets have been selling quickly, though some may still be available at the door the night of the concert for $7, said FMO Coordinator Marrion Johnson.

In addition to the 300 tickets available for NU students, 300 tickets were reserved for black prospective students and their hosts. The Office of Admissions is covering the cost of these tickets, Johnson said.

Big Sean signed to record label G.O.O.D. Music/Island Def Jam in 2008. His first single appeared on Kanye West’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothin’ Mixtape.”

Student response to the chosen performers has been positive, Johnson said.

“Students are going to love the show,” he said. “I know people are really excited.”
