Students now only have to pay $1 an hour to play Northwestern’s Wii.
The newly renovated Game Room in the basement of Norris University Center lowered its prices late last week after numerous complaints that its prices were too high, said Game Room employee Janice Moore.
“We want to listen to what they’re saying,” Moore said.
The Communication junior said she hasn’t heard any requests in person but that management was responding to student concerns presented in an article published by the Daily last week.
The story (“New Wii, Xboxes highlight updates to Norris Game Room,” Oct. 21) tried to gauge student reaction to the Game Room’s renovations, revealed last Thursday. Improvements included a flat-screen TV, eight Xboxes, a Wii and a Rock Band station.
Most of the NU undergraduates quoted in the article said the original $3 an hour fee was too expensive or that they didn’t even know the Game Room existed.
There hasn’t been any noticeable pick up in activity since the renovation or the price drop, Moore said.
“I really can’t say,” she said. “The changes just went into effect.”
