Registration for Dance Marathon 2009 opened in Norris University Center today to steady traffic, said DM executive co-chairwoman Liz Banks.
A record 750 dancers signed up in 2008, and registration will not be capped this year. DM will choose an appropriate venue once the number of dancers is final, Banks said.
Registration will continue tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $40 per dancer. Each dancer must also raise at least $400 to participate in the 30-hour event held each March.
This year’s primary beneficiary is Project Kindle, which serves families affected by HIV and AIDS. The Evanston Community Foundation will continue to be DM’s secondary beneficiary.
