Tickets for the Tony Award-winning puppet musical “Avenue Q” went on sale for $20 at Norris Box Office at 11 a.m. Monday, and all 137 sold out at about 1:50 p.m., said Frank Zambrano, the box office’s cash operations manager. Students could purchase two tickets per WildCARD, with one WildCARD per person.
Helen Wood, director for the Center for Student Involvement, which organized the trip to see the show, said she didn’t think the tickets sold out unusually fast.
“We choose trips that make sense and that people want to go to,” she said. “These tickets are hard to come by.”
Other events CSI has organized include trips to see Broadway shows “Rent” and “Wicked”, as well as Six Flags during Fall Quarter.
“This is something programming does for students to enjoy themselves off campus,” said Weinberg freshman Aira Contreras.
