Hot Fuzz comes from the makers of zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead; so, if you’ve seen that, you basically know what to expect: features senseless comedic violence with lots of fake blood, which is peppered by exchanges between witty and lovable Brits.
Main character Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg), a London cop, finds he is being promoted to sergeant. But because he’s making the London service look bad, he’s being transferred to the sleepy rural town of Sandford. Angel begrudgingly shows up in Sandford but soon realizes that behind the veneer of this seemingly quiet village lies something sinister.
The Good: Whether you think it’s an action flick or a comedy, Hot Fuzz consistently entertains.
The Bad: The movie’s plot is basically every action movie ever made – but that was probably the point.
The Ugly: Squeamish? There’s lots of blood and gore, so watch out.
