More than $2,500 in electronics and other personal items was stolen from an apartment on the 1000 block of Dempster Street on Friday, said Deputy Chief Joseph Bellino of the Evanston Police Department.
A 25-year-old Evanston resident and his two roommates said their first-floor apartment was robbed sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday, according to Bellino.
Among the items reported missing by the victims were a $2,000 Apple laptop, two $130 Nintendo game systems, a $275 Apple iPod, a Canon digital camera and a leather wallet, Bellino said.
The residents found the rear door unlocked with no signs of forced entry. There are no suspects at this time, he said.
Woman finds footprints on hood of car, dents on roof
A 25-year-old Evanston resident discovered Sunday afternoon that there were dents on her car caused by someone walking across its roof, Bellino said.
The woman told police she parked her four-door Toyota on the 800 block of Simpson Street late Saturday afternoon. By 3:30 p.m. the next day, she found the damage, he said.
The value of the damage is unknown and there are no suspects, Bellino said.
