Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions opened its new Sherman Plaza office Saturday in hopes of attracting more Northwestern students to its classes.
Students now can sign up for private tutoring and extra practice tests offered by Kaplan, which already held graduate test preparation classes on campus.
The new location, 1620 Sherman Ave., features three large lecture rooms, a private tutoring room and a multimedia lab for Kaplan students to view recordings of past classes.
Some of the company’s classes will still be held in campus buildings including Kresge Hall and Technological Institute.
Kaplan holds prep programs for graduate school admissions tests, including the LSAT, GMAT, GRE and MCAT. High school students also can take advantage of the center’s college entrance exam courses.
“I think it will really give us an opportunity to serve more students,” said Abbey Stauffer, the new location’s graduate programs manager.
The center’s in-person classroom courses for graduate tests range from $1,149 to $1,649, with private tutoring for some tests costing as much as $4,849.
