Musicians are always jealous of artists, and artists are always jealous of musicians,” says internationally celebrated musician/producer Arto Lindsay to a packed auditorium in the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave. “Artists envy musicians’ direct relationship with their audiences, while musicians are jealous that artists can maintain the sort of edge that musicians have lost. Musicians are able to carry revolutionary and avant-garde ideas to a lot of people through the mechanisms of the entertainment industry. Since artists have never had that forum, they have continued to press for change.”
