No. 8 Indiana (12-14, 5-11 Big Ten) vs. No. 9 Wisconsin (7-20, 5-11): Both the Hoosiers and Badgers bring sub-.500 overall records to the tournament’s first game, but Indiana finished the season strong with a come-from-behind victory over Illinois. If the Hoosiers want a chance to play top seed Penn State, sophomore guard Jenny DeMuth will have to pick up the pace.

No. 7 Iowa (14-13, 6-10) vs. No. 10 NU (8-19, 3-13): History is on NU’s side, as the Cats have eliminated the Hawkeyes twice in the past four postseasons. Now all NU needs to do is find its 3-point stroke and consistently find its cutters. Add in 40 minutes of solid defense against All-Big Ten selections Jennie Lillis and Kristi Faulkner, and the Cats should send the Hawkeyes home — again.
