Man suffers gunshot wounds after traffic altercation in alley

A Chicago man was shot multiple times in an Evanston alley early Wednesday morning, police said.

The 23-year old man told police that the incident occurred at 2 a.m. after a traffic altercation, said Cmdr. Michael Perry of Evanston Police Department.

The incident took place in the east alley of the 1800 block of Dodge Avenue, Perry said.

The man is in good condition after suffering bullet wounds that entered and exited both legs, Perry said.

Another bullet entered the man’s left thumb and then entered his left arm, Perry said.

Perry would not release the victim’s name but said the man is being treated at Evanston Hospital, 2650 Ridge Ave.

The man told police he did not know who shot him, Perry said. The man was unable to give police a clear description of his assailant or the car, he added.

Police had no suspects as of Wednesday afternoon, according to Perry.
