Brett Nakabayashi might not hit a lot of home runs, knock in droves of runs, or have an imposing physical presence.
But watch her play a game, and it will become clear how the native of Irvine, Calif., helps the Northwestern softball team win games.
“She’s one of the most versatile players we have,” NU coach Kate Drohan said. “She can jump-start the offense.”
Nakabayashi isn’t big on the long ball. In fact, she has yet to hit a collegiate home run – in 377 at-bats.
