Northwestern resumed classes on its Chicago campus this morning after closing them in the wake of Tuesday’s terrorist attacks in New York, Washington and Shanksville, Pa.
“Things are back to normal at this point, so we’re going through with what are normal activities,” said Charles Loebbaka, NU spokesman.
NU had canceled Tuesday classes for the Medical School, Law School and School of Continuing Studies after passenger planes were hijacked and crashed into the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.
Among the campus religious services scheduled for Wednesday:
Episcopal eucharist will be at 12:15 p.m. at the Jeanne Vail Chapel, part of the Alice Millar Religious Center.
Mass will be said at 4:30 p.m. at the Sheil Catholic Center.
The NCAA is holding discussions on whether to postpone weekend athletic events. NU is scheduled to play Navy on Saturday.
Several other sporting contests have been canceled, including Wednesday men’s soccer match at Valparaiso University and a field hockey tournament at Storrs, Conn.
