Whoever said Northwestern wasn’t a party school never followed NU’s convoy to Kentucky. According to an article in The Daily, about 125 students roadtripped to the Churchill Downs to witness the annual Kentucky Derby.
While this itself represents a level of fun often unseen at this institution, the fact that the students were more concerned with smuggling alcohol into the tightly controlled horse race is even better. With beer going for $2.25, thrifty students tried everything from putting sandwich bags of vodka into their brassieres to strapping a fifth of vodka to their inner thighs with adhesive tape to injecting oranges with rum.
