Members of ReformaNU, a group pushing for improvements to the Hispanic studies department, are demonstrating at The Rock today to make the department and more students aware of the rising Latino voice on campus.
“This is a huge issue that should matter to everyone,” said Lucila Pulido, an Education freshman. “School is for the students, and if we’re not being represented, then we’re wasting our money. Just because we don’t have strong numbers doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have a voice. This will serve to let people know Latinos are here and we’re paving the way for a bigger population on campus.”
