Hush that fuss A&O Productions is bringing Outkast, the platinum-selling hip-hop duo best known for their song “Rosa Parks,” to the A&O Ball May 4.
“It’s a party atmosphere, so we like to get artists that have a lot of personality and energy,” said Brie Neimand, A&O director of concerts.
The ball will be held at the Riviera in Chicago. Students can purchase tickets for $15 beginning April 24 at Norris Box Office. Neimand said alcohol will be available to concert-goers over the age of 21.
A&O is providing free buses to the event, which is set for the same night Spike Lee is scheduled to speak at NU. Organizers said they will try to accommodate students interested in both events by having a bus leave for the concert after Lee is done speaking.
Opening for Outkast is Chicago artist Common. Neimand said A&O was glad to expose NU students to the area rapper.
“He’s a talented artist, and it’s a great way to introduce him to Northwestern,” said Neimand, a Speech senior.
Neimand said she hopes students take advantage of the opportunity to go into Chicago.
