On Saturday, Bookends & Beginnings celebrated Independent Bookstore Day. Owner Nina Barrett said she hopes to provide customers with an experience unique from chain bookstores.

Northwestern students gathered Thursday at The Rock to march in support of survivors of sexual assault.

The city hosted “Clean Up, Evanston!” at various sites on Saturday to celebrate Earth Day. Volunteers cleaned litter, planted trees and interacted with community organizations also in attendance.

The Northwestern Arts Circle hosted “Arts on Equality” on Saturday, April 14. Among the artists who participated were Conductor Donald Mally and Kaplan artist-in-residence Rohina Malik.
