A 26-year-old Evanston woman’s wallet was stolen from her purse in the checkout line at Sam’s Club, 2450 Main St., on Tuesday evening. Evanston police Cmdr. Brian Henry said $110 in cash, some credit cards and the woman’s driver’s license were in the wallet.

Henry said the woman was checking out around 6:15 p.m. and left her purse in her shopping cart. She took a card out of her wallet and paid, and when she turned around the wallet was gone.

Henry said Evanston Police Department has not identified any suspects.

Package stolen from apartment common area

Shortly after it was delivered, a package belonging to a 35-year-old Evanston woman was stolen from a common area in her apartment building.

The package was delivered around 10:23 a.m. and left in the common area of the building, located in the 1900 block of Howard Street. When the woman came downstairs soon after to pick up her package, it was gone, Henry said.

The woman reviewed the building’s security footage with her landlord, and confirmed the package was stolen. Henry said EPD has a description of the suspect, and is continuing to investigate.
