Renter fails to return U-Haul truck
U-Haul Moving and Storage of Evanston reported the theft of a rental Ford F650 U-Haul truck valued at approximately $50,000 from its location on 2125 Dempster Street at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
A woman rented the truck on Dec. 4 and failed to return the vehicle according to the terms of the rental agreement. She claimed to have returned the vehicle to a different location, but U-Haul does not have a record of the return, Henry said.
Henry said the rental car company most likely failed to properly enter the truck’s return into the computer system and he expects the parties to resolve the matter at a later date.
