More than $500 worth of personal belongings were stolen from an Evanston residence during a party early Saturday morning.

Around 1 a.m., Evanston Police Department officers responded to reports from a 21-year-old man and two 21-year-old women — all residents of 1017 Garnett Pl.

Evanston police Cmdr. Ryan Glew said three backpacks, three laptops, a Texas Instruments calculator, an Amazon Kindle, $100 in cash, a driver’s license, a passport and a terabyte hard drive were stolen.

A man and a woman, both around 30 years old, were seen at the house even though they were not invited to the party and seemed not to know anyone there, Glew said. The couple were seen walking away with three backpacks.

“It was possible that any of the guests could have stolen the property,” Glew said. “But I think our Bonnie and Clyde duo are our most likely suspects.”

Cards and computer stolen from car

An Evanston man reported items missing from his parked car at 8 p.m. on Friday. Six credit and debit cards and one laptop were taken from the unlocked Toyota, parked at 828 Michigan Ave.

According to Glew, the man left his car unattended while he went upstairs to his apartment. He came back to find the items removed from the passenger side of the vehicle.
