Woman robbed by two men near Chicago campus
January 30, 2018
A woman was the victim of a robbery near Northwestern’s Chicago campus on Monday night, according to an email to students from Chief of Police Bruce Lewis.
The woman — who is unaffiliated with NU — fell when she was “approached from behind by two men” who stole her shoulder bag with a computer, cell phone and personal identification, according to the email. Lewis said the men were described to be wearing dark clothing, about 5-foot-8 and looked to be in their 20s.
Lewis said the incident did not involve weapons and that the woman only suffered minor injuries.
The robbery follows a series of reported robberies during Fall Quarter, which prompted University Police measures to increase security and police presence on the Chicago campus.
