Blotter: Evanston woman arrested in connection with domestic battery
October 4, 2017
A local woman was arrested Tuesday night in connection with domestic battery in west Evanston.
Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old woman at the front door of a residence in the 1700 block of Hovland Court, Evanston Police Department spokesman Perry Polinski said. Officers learned on arrival that the woman — who lived in the property’s basement — was in a verbal dispute with a 30-year-old female about the living arrangement.
The older woman spat in younger woman’s face, Polinski said, leading to the former being charged with domestic battery.
Chicago man arrested in connection with multiple traffic offenses
A 42-year-old Chicago resident was arrested early Wednesday morning in connection with two traffic offenses just south of Evanston.
The vehicle, first observed near Chicago Avenue and Howard Street, was pulled over in the 1200 block of Chase Avenue in Chicago because it was operating without taillights, Polinski said. Upon further investigation, officers determined that the driver was intoxicated.
The man was charged with driving while under the influence.
