A man was arrested Sunday morning in connection with domestic battery in south Evanston.

Around 5:15 a.m., a woman called the Evanston Police Department to report a domestic disturbance at the home she shares with her boyfriend, located in the 700 block of Reba Place.

Upon arrival, officers learned the woman had been in a verbal argument with her boyfriend — a 38-year-old Evanston resident — who appeared intoxicated, EPD spokesman Perry Polinski said. The argument escalated, and the woman was shoved and struck in the head, Polinski said.

Polinski said the woman refused medical attention. The man was taken into custody without incident and was charged with domestic battery.
