The merchandise he took totaled $54.83, Dugan said. He was charged with retail theft, a misdemeanor.
Tires, rims stolen from vehicle in south Evanston
A man’s tires and rims were stolen off his 2005 Honda in south Evanston on Thursday morning.
A citizen reported that the vehicle was left on cinder blocks in the 400 block of Dempster Street, Dugan said. An officer was unable to contact the owner after finding the Honda. The owner, a 69-year-old Evanston resident, later called back to report his tires and rims had been stolen, Dugan said.
There was no entry gained to the vehicle, Dugan said, and an evidence technician processed the scene.
There are no suspects, and there’s currently no value on the rims or tires.
