An Evanston man was arrested Friday in connection with aggravated sexual abuse.

The incidents were originally reported in April, Evanston police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan said. Beginning in September 2016, the man inappropriately touched three juvenile females, who were unrelated but close family friends.

He was charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse, after a lengthy investigation by juvenile detectives, Dugan said.

Dugan, in an email to The Daily, said it was “really courageous of the victims to come forward.”

Man arrested in connection with violation of an active order of protection

An Evanston man was arrested Saturday morning in connection with violating an active order of protection in south Evanston.

A woman called the police to the 100 block of Clyde Avenue after she and her boyfriend were involved in a verbal dispute, Dugan said. While the dispute did not become physical, there was active order of protection against the man that he violated by being intoxicated.

He was arrested and charged with violating an active order of protection, a misdemeanor.
