Comedian Michael Che will headline a stand-up comedy event May 24, A&O Productions and Northwestern Sketch Television announced Tuesday.

Che, known for his work on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” will perform in Ryan Auditorium in Technological Institute. Che is currently the co-anchor of SNL’s “Weekend Update” segment and is a staff writer for the show. In 2013, Che was named one of “10 Comics to Watch” by Variety. That year, he joined SNL as a writer before a brief stint as a correspondent for Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” After only three months on the show, he was asked back to SNL, this time to join the show’s cast.

The comedy event will also feature performances from Brooklyn-based comedian Julio Torres, who also currently writes for SNL, and student performer Nabeel Muscatwalla, a Communication junior. Members of NSTV will also present some of their latest work, according to a news release.
